Hauwa Indimi-Yar’adua, the daughter of Maiduguri billionaire oil mogul, Mohammed Indimi, has taken to social media to bemoan the rising cost of foodstuff in the country.
The billionaire daughter, who recently welcomed her second child, posted a photo of a small basket of tomatoes her staff bought for N8000 in Abuja.
According to her, she was taken aback by the price of the tomatoes and still can’t believe the amount it was purchased.
“I sent my people to the market and as of yesterday, this is N8k tomatoes. Still not over it,” she wrote on Monday, July 3.
It’s no news that tomatoes are currently very expensive in Nigeria. A basket of tomatoes now sells for N45,000 -N50,000, depending on the market and state.
