This unexpected apology didn’t sit well with the storekeeper and she questioned if she had used some of the product.

A UK-based Nigerian lady has recounted how she almost landed into trouble for saying “sorry” in the United Kingdom.

Speaking in a video she shared on social media, the lady said she went to return an item she bought at a store after realizing that she already had the same item at home.

However, when the storekeeper started the refund process, she politely said “I’m sorry for the inconveniences”.

This unexpected apology didn’t sit well with the storekeeper and she questioned if she had used some of the product before returning it, implying that she apologized out of guilt.

Following this experience, the lady stated that Brits only apologize when they are wrong or have committed an offense.

She added that when someone falls down, Brits would only ask if they are okay, instead of saying sorry. According to her, this encounter has taught her how to deal with Brits.
