He was charged with two counts of murder in connection with the incident that sent shockwaves across Botswana.

The Facebook post of a Botswana Defence Force (BDF) member, who is accused of murdering his wife, Bogolo Sepopa, and a female soldier named Same Moapare, said to be his side chick, has surfaced.

The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday, July 16, following which the 35-year-old suspect, identified as Captain Mogomo Sepopa, was arrested and remanded in Botswana Police Service custody.

He was formally charged with two counts of murder in connection with the incident that sent shockwaves across Botswana on Monday, July 17.

According to reports, he allegedly shot and killed the two women and then held their bodies overnight at their residence in the Village Garrison located in Gaborone. He also held two other individuals hostage during the tragic event.

He, however, eventually surrendered after intense negotiations with multiple security agencies for over twenty hours.

He was arraigned before the Extension II Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday morning, July 19, 2023.

Meanwhile, it’s been revealed that Sepopa shared a quote on Facebook around 6:33pm on the day of the incident that reads, “If it costs you your peace, it is too expensive”.

In another post, he wrote: “Close to the lord, laugh at the wesele”

It was also gathered that just few days to the incident, his wife Bogolo, took to Facebook to share a photo of them together.

She also celebrated their one month anniversary on social media on May 28, 2023.
