Popular Afrobeats music sensation, Kizz Daniel, has spoken on the news reporting his arrest in Ivory Coast.

Kizz Daniel became one of the trending conversation online after he was alleged have been arrested and detained by the African sports league, Confederation of African Football, CAF, in Ivory Coast after being paid the sum of $150, 000 and he refused to come on stage to perform on Thursday, October 12, 2023.

This follows days after the singer shared a video of him and his crew getting ready to jet off to Ivory Coast, while revealing that the flight cost N40 million.

However, Kizz Daniel released a statement on his Instagram page to debunk these reports. He noted that the organizers failed to pay for his performance despite the signed contract which states clearly that no pay no performance.

According to him, when he touched down the city, the organizers still hadn’t paid but he performed regardless. He also stated that he took his leave when his team was assaulted backstage.

Kizz wrote, “This might definitely get a lot of people in trouble but damn, enough is enough”

“CAF didn’t deal with us directly, it was through an agent. The agent signed my contract which states “no money no performance”

“I agreed to fly in regardless, after sO many appeal and of cuz excuses on bank transfer delay with the promise of receiving the money upon arrival in Abidjan. Till now no payment , not even the alleged amount mentioned”.

“I still chose to support CAF and went ahead to the venue to perform without payment, but unfortunately my 3 min performance slot was up.”
